Terms of Sale and License

These terms cover buying and using Skoft Files through skoft.app. They are presented at checkout, and paying confirms you accept them. The version in force when you buy applies to your purchase. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights.

The offer

Skoft Files is a desktop app sold as a one-time purchase of EUR 49, VAT included. That price buys:

• a license that never expires, for up to 3 machines,
• 12 months of feature updates,
• free security and conformity fixes for at least 24 months from purchase.

After the first 12 months you can optionally renew for EUR 24.99 per year to keep receiving feature updates. Renewing is never required: without it, your license and the app keep working, and security and conformity fixes stay free within their window.

A second option, Skoft Files Lifetime, is a one-time purchase of EUR 99, VAT included. It buys the same license with feature updates included for the lifetime of the product, no renewal ever.

Free trial

Skoft Files comes with a 30-day free trial that counts only the days you actually use the app: a day on which you do not open it does not count against the trial. That way you can try it on your own machine, at your own pace, before deciding to buy.

During the trial, bulk cleanup actions such as duplicate removal are capped at 500 MB or 100 files per action. Scan results are always shown in full, and a purchased license removes the cap.

Delivery

After payment, your license key is emailed to the address you used at checkout, normally within minutes. Delivery is complete when the key is emailed. If it does not arrive, check your spam folder, then contact hello@skoft.app.

Right of withdrawal

If you buy as a consumer in the EU or UK, you have a legal right to withdraw from the purchase within 14 days without giving a reason. Skoft Files is digital content that is delivered immediately, so at checkout you are asked to expressly consent to immediate delivery and to acknowledge that you lose the right of withdrawal once the license is delivered.

The 60-day money-back guarantee below is a contractual promise on top of this. It applies regardless of the withdrawal right, and your statutory rights are unaffected.

Refunds

Every purchase carries a 60-day money-back guarantee. Email hello@skoft.app within 60 days of purchase and you receive a full refund, no questions asked. A full refund revokes the license: the app stops working on machines that used it.

Your license

Your purchase grants you a perpetual, non-exclusive license to install and use Skoft Files on up to 3 machines you use, for personal or business purposes. The license key is issued to you; do not share, resell or publish it. Skoft may revoke a license used in breach of these terms.

The online license check

Skoft Files activates online and then confirms your license roughly once a week in the background. The app keeps working fully offline for up to 30 days between successful checks; past that, it asks you to connect once. If the license service is ever permanently discontinued, Skoft will release an unlock that removes the online check, so your license keeps working.

Updates

Feature updates are included for 12 months from purchase, and continue only while an optional renewal (EUR 24.99 per year) is active. Security and conformity fixes are separate: they are free for at least 24 months from purchase, whether you renew or not. If you stop renewing, you keep the version you have, your license, and the free fixes within their window.

Acceptable use

Use Skoft Files lawfully. Do not redistribute the app or your license key, and do not work around the license check or the machine limit, except to the extent applicable law permits this despite the restriction.

Liability

Where the law allows it, Skoft's total liability under these terms is limited to the amount you paid for the license. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

Statutory rights

Nothing in these terms limits the rights your local consumer law gives you, including remedies if the software is defective. For consumers in Australia: our software comes with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law, and the 60-day guarantee is in addition to those rights.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Dutch law, and disputes go to the competent court in the Netherlands. If you buy as a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your home country, including any right to bring or defend a case in your home courts. Skoft has not committed to an alternative dispute resolution body.
